Why Was He Still Allowed to Live in the US?  

In 1966 when John Candler was 27-years-old he plead guilty to taking indecent liberties with a 12-year-old girl. It does not appear that he served any time in jail for that offense. He was hired as a swimming coach at the North Carolina State University in 1968. It is not clear to me from the article I read whether the college was aware of those charges or not. In any event they should have done a more thorough background check on the perspective swimming coach prior to hiring him.

John Candler went on to coach 49 ACC champions in more than three decades at North Carolina State University before he resigned in November 2003. He also ran a successful business; Candler Swim & Gym Club at 1013 Jones Franklin Road.

Pedophiles Will Travel Far to Meet Their Goal  

Nabil Al Rowais was feeling very excited in April 2006, when he exited the plane in San Francisco, California. Nabil was not excited just because he had been able to travel from Saudi Arabia to San Francisco to perhaps see the sights of the city such as the Golden Gate Bridge or the Embarcadero. He was not excited because he had come to see the San Francisco Giants play baseball.

Nabil is a psychiatrist in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and he was not excited about coming to participate in a medical conference in the San Francisco area.
